This Telluride wedding at the exclusive Golden Ledge venue was a cinematic dream—complete with alpenglow, fresh snow, lightning delays, edelweiss, and some of the most dramatic mountain views in Colorado. Working alongside Carrie Patterson, Soirée Telluride (Wendy Jacobs), Ori Swiatkowski Films, New Leaf Telluride, and Fig & Bloom Cake, this event became another dream-team moment where I photographed as second shooter while also capturing both Super 8 and 16mm film. For couples searching for Telluride wedding inspiration, Super 8 + 16mm film weddings, or luxury celebrations at Golden Ledge, this postcard-worthy day is a perfect example of film-forward, mountain storytelling at its best.
Some weddings feel like stepping into a movie set, and this one in Telluride absolutely did.
Between the snow, the alpenglow, the lightning delays, and the tiny alpine edelweiss tucked into bouquets — this entire day felt like a living postcard.
This was another dream team experience for me: stepping in as second photographer for Carrie Patterson, while shooting Super 8 and 16mm motion picture film throughout the day. Honestly, any chance I get to shoot film in the mountains? I’m in heaven. Literally singing “The hills are alive with the sound of music”.
We were at the exclusive Golden Ledge, which IS THE MOST breathtaking venue in Telluride. That sweeping view of the San Juans, the drop-offs, the golden light right before sunset… it’s impossible not to feel inspired here. When I got the 16mm footage back, and saw the film coloring of the alpenglow- STUNNING. STUN…NING… Jaw on floor- OBSESSED.
We also need to shout out Gorrono Ranch for the EPIC welcome party location. The alpine architecture lended perfectly to the grain, warmth and breath of the 16mm film
Wendy Jacobs of Soirée Telluride created the kind of event design that blends right into the landscape — refined, elevated, but never overpowering the natural beauty.
New Leaf Telluride brought in florals that felt straight out of an alpine storybook.
Fig & Bloom Cake crafted the sweetest (literally) mountain-inspired cake.
And O.Ski Films rounded out the creative team with their signature cinematic eye.
I captured a mix of Super 8 and 16mm, switching formats depending on the moment. Super 8 gives that soft, nostalgic, flickery charm — like watching a memory unfold. And 16mm? It hits with depth, richness, and drama. Shooting both on a day that had snow, sunset, storms, and everything in between was a dream.
There’s something about film in the mountains that just feels right. The grain, the texture, the way it reacts to sudden weather changes — it’s imperfect in all the perfect ways. It’s alive.
This wedding reminded me why I do what I do: the connection, the emotion, the beauty of a place like Telluride, and the magic that happens when weather shows up with its own unpredictable personality.
A true postcard.
A true dream.
More Telluride, please.
