Bella and Jackie’s wedding at Snake River Sporting Club in Jackson Hole, Wyoming was the perfect setting for a Super 8 wedding film—warm, playful, and full of unfiltered emotion. Working alongside Claire Bean Events from NYC, locally based Carrie Patterson Photography, with florals by Mille Fleur in Salt Lake City, a stunning tent installation from Canvas Unlimited, and beauty by Hair and Makeup by Tanya, the day came together with effortless elegance. For couples searching for Super 8 wedding film inspiration or a Jackson Hole wedding videographer who specializes in film-forward storytelling, this celebration is a beautiful example of how Super 8 can elevate a wedding day with texture, nostalgia, and artistry.

Bella and Jackie’s wedding gave me one of the most unique creative experiences of my year. I had the honor of serving as second photographer for Carrie Patterson, while my talented team captured the digital videography. But woven throughout the day, in the pockets of time where instinct and opportunity aligned, I was also shooting Super 8 film—one of my all-time favorite mediums.
Super 8 hits differently.
The sound, the texture, the nostalgia baked into every frame—nothing else replicates it. It forces you to slow down, to look longer, to shoot with intention rather than abundance. It’s raw in the best way.
What I love most is the pairing of still photography + Super 8. It feels like the perfect marriage of mediums:
photography grounds the day in timeless imagery, while Super 8 lifts it into something emotional, whimsical, and cinematic.
For weddings where traditional digital videography might feel too heavy or distracting, Super 8 (or 16mm) adds just the right amount of vibe and artistry—an enhancement rather than a competition. It fills the atmosphere without ever pulling attention away from the photographs.
Bella and Jackie made this film effortless.
Their playfulness, their chemistry, and the way they fully inhabited every moment brought the Super 8 footage to life. Moments between them were sweet, spontaneous, and beautifully unguarded—the kind of moments Super 8 was made for.
This film isn’t just a highlight of their day; it’s a sensory experience. A memory in motion. A small, tangible time capsule of who they were together on that day, exactly as they were.
It was an honor to capture it.
